The observation

Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT. These tools are not gimmicks: they let an experienced developer deliver in a day what used to take a week. Productivity exploded.
Two things should logically follow: prices should drop, and quality should rise. That is the normal mechanic of competition when production costs fall.

The spark
From this observation came a simple idea.
If we can ship faster, better, cheaper, why not make it a product that ends the dependency? A tool that belongs to whoever paid for it. That works without a server, without a cloud, without an account. That cannot be taken away from you.

AI accelerates software production
AI dev tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) cut production time by 3 or 4. A studio like Invoice Studio that would have taken 6 months in 2019 is built in a few weeks in 2026.

The decision
Pass the gain on into price and quality
Rather than keep the margin, we decided to pass it on to the customer. One-time purchase price instead of a subscription. Finish pushed to the max. Direct email support, no chatbot.

The Cahier Autonome: 1 file, owned forever
To go all the way with the idea of independence, we had to break the subscription software model. A standalone file that contains everything, runs offline, belongs to whoever paid. No dependency, ever.
